Election campaigns constitute a major part of the activities of any political party. Before the elections extensive campaigning is carried out by all parties. Starting from wall graffiti, hoarding, arranging talk shows, organizing public meetings are done to promote the interests of their parties and their leaders or rather their candidates.
The political leaders try to adopt every possible way as to influence the public into believing in their false promises. In the process of convincing the public they talk about incidents citing different examples most of which are either false or exaggeration. Sometimes the leaders of opposing parties pass snide or illicit remarks about the other parties or political leaders. At times they speak slanderous words and use abusive terms in public on the spur of a moment. This is something to detest and is completely illegal. Public meetings are organized to preach a party’s ideology and to introduce its candidates to the public, but not to insult other people or to bring down the name of the other opposing parties by giving filthy comments. Now-a-days there are news of some political leaders using slanderous terms and abusive words against other political leaders in public meetings. This is something which cannot be tolerated and is illegal.
Another mode of campaigning which has come in to fashion is bike rallies. Almost 30 or 40 bikes go out on rallies which cause nothing but road blockage and unnecessary pollution. Both bike rallies and foot rallies are a menace to the common public as they disrupt the traffic.
Sometimes some T.V. channels organize talk shows with different personalities from different parties joining in it. Most of these live shows do not promote healthy information, but rather they usually end in quarrels. Throughout the total time of the show they argue with each other and the audience is sure to get bored.
At times we see political parties organize public meetings in open grounds or at important junctions on main roads, etc to get the attention of the public. In the process of doing so they create a lot of problems. They use large speakers with high volume to make their voices heard. In these meetings the people make it a point to blur out speeches at the top of their voices even if they are without any meaning. This causes sound pollution and poses lots of problems for old people and especially students who might have an upcoming examination.

Instead of campaigning in an effective way the political parties try to impose their ideology and decisions upon the public and most of the time these campaigns create problem for the common public instead of helping and facilitating them.
